How Allie's Came to Be:
After 2 ½ years supplying both British and American brews to the community through local bars and restaurants the British Bulldog Brewery family decided it was time to find the perfect location to create a traditional pub where people can meet and relax in comfortable surroundings, share stories. Well, they found it in downtown Chico! With their feet firmly placed on both sides of the pond, their transatlantic heritage and the wide range of ales that the brewery offers, the name The Allies Pub seemed the perfect fit bringing people together as they talk through challenges and celebrate successes in a comfortable and friendly environment. Owners Justin, Emma & Sophie Martin, Alison & Steve Kay hope that you come and join them and see for yourself everything that they have to offer.
The Origin of the Brew:
Steve began brewing beer when he was 15 years old in England, where he was born. Steve moved to Chico, in 1995. In 2011, like many, he was struggling to find ways to reduce the family’s living expenses. He realized that beer was a significant cost in their food and drink budget, but couldn’t imagine life without it. The solution: Become reacquainted with his past brewing heritage and British Bulldog Brewery was born. Since then, with the enthusiastic support and hands-on assistance from Steve's son-in-law, Justin Martin, we’ve not had a duff batch and now have over 40 recipes covering styles from session Bitters to Russian Imperial Stouts. Along with our passion for beer we fused the recipes with our passion for history and heroes.
The Food of Allie's Pub:
If you would like to try Authentic British food then you absolutely must try traditional Bangers and Mash, Bits and Bobs, a Pasty, or Shepherds Pie. Check out THEIR MENU to see what they are all about.
They truly have something for everyone... Small bites, Charcuterie, Beer and Cider Flights, Salads, Pretzels.
Extensive and Fun Events Offered:
Mocktail Mixology Class where you can learn to make non alcoholic beverages.
A Plant and Sip.
Afternoon Tea.
Bros and Babies: A chance for Dad's to meet and enjoy time together grabbing a beer and good conversation on the patio.
Join us the first and third Monday of each month at 4:30pm or our new Irish Session Pub Music!
*What's an Irish Session, you ask? It's a traditional gathering where talented musicians come together to play Irish folk music in an informal and spontaneous setting.
